2009 Season - Week 23

A week is a long time in the BUMS

Attached is the favourite chart of the year giving a graphical view of your position in the league table each week. Five different owners lead the Premiership in 2009:- Daz, Andy H, Marcus, Chief and finally Johnnie. While Cheryl dominated the Conference leading outright for 13 weeks and sharing the top spot with Craig for one, while the rookie led for the other 3 weeks. George joined them in the top 3 from week 5 and so the promotion players were set. In the Premiership John and Mark were in the relegation zone from week 5 while Aaron finally climbed past Dave G in week 13. How high did you fly- how low did you go? All-Time Leading Points Scorer After the most successful season in the history of the BUMS Johnnie remains the all-time leading regular season points scorer with Chief second, Andy H third and Mark fourth. Chief remains the highest post-season scorer with Mark 2nd, Marcus 3rd and Daz 4th. Chief also remains the Official All-Time Leading Points scorer with Johnnie 2nd, Mark 3rd. We have a new comer joining us in the highest annual average scorer, congratulations to Craig who scored 509 total points in his first season 11.3 points per year behind third placed Johnnie. Wayne dropped to second after a disappointing year for the 3 time champion averaging 520.8 points in his 9 seasons while across 15 seasons Chief has averaged 527.9. See the attached – I wouldn’t lie to you. Franchise Players 2010-2011 As always I shall be asking for your Franchise players for the next two years early in June as any key Free Agency moves plus big draft signings may have an impact on your decisions. Free Agency begins in 2 weeks while NFL Draft Analyst Bucky Brook’s mock draft has limited options for us next year. He has just 6 BUMS-eligible players going in the first round starting with Oklahoma State WR Dez Bryant going to Denver with the 11th pick, Seattle taking Clemson RB CJ Spiller at 14, Cincinnati get Oklahoma TE Jermaine Gresham at 21, Arrelious Ben (Illinois WR) will be the 25th pick by the Ravens, QB Sam Bradford (Oklahoma) going to Arizona at 26 and San Diego drafting California RB Jahvid Best 28th. Draft Order In the same way the play-off seeding works the draft order is based on lowest to highest scorer irrespective of division. Therefore John is on the clock while Johnnie will have the 16th pick. The full order is John, David S, Mark, Dave G, Aaron, Wayne, Ron, AP, George, Daz, Craig, Marcus, Cheryl, Andy H, Chief and Johnnie. There will be an extra pick at the end of the 5th round for Wayne and then Craig. BUMS on Seats The NFL Draft is on from Thursday April 22nd to Saturday 24th. Hopefully it will be back on TV again and we can get together at Johnnies to see the first round develop.
